Polly's Pigeons!

Ever feel like you are going round in was a fun although time consuming quilt. My customer, Polly requested pebbles like the quilt in the book but we decided on a little more.....EQS Sew Simple Poly batting, Glide thread top and bobbin in Warm Grey...42" x 60"

I am sure the quilt will be a talking point in the holiday cottage, it was designed to fit in a stairwell where it will be displayed once the binding has been added.  The pattern is from a book called Quilts Made Modern by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr.

It's a very simple design but to draw the viewer in a little more I added some additional was a pleasant distraction from all those pebbles. Look closer and you can see a telegraph pole with wires and ghosted flying pigeons!

I was pleased to find an exact matching thread in my cupboard but was very relieved when my good longarming friend, Janette, had an extra cone which duly arrived in the post just in time. Thanks Janette!

Did you Quilt?

So, did you manage to find time to do any piecing or quilting for 'International Quilting Day' over the weekend?
I just love the back of quilts, this view won't be seen when these quilted pieces are finished, this is the view from down under....

Now you'll have to wait a while to see the fronts!

I needed a birthday present and a couple of new cushions for my newly painted and cleaned kitchen.

I just love plump cushions, there are two with feathers, you all know I love feathers and two made from leftovers from a jelly roll, like them all but have already gifted one to a Very Good Friend....

Isn't it great when something catches you off guard.....

I was checking for stray threads on Anne's quilted comforter, when I looked back the lighting took me by surprise and I had to run get my camera....
